Handsome Stelios an this brother Spiros were thrown into a Crete shelter, thrown away like rubbish, caught and taken to a shelter.
Both are superb puppies, happy, sociable and well behaved. Spiros has found his home, poor Stelios awaits. Stelios is clean, happy, sociable, loves cuddles. Just an all round wonderful puppy. Adopters will need to provide a plan how they will ensure Stelios is socialised if no other dogs in the home. All adopters need to be fully committed to continuing their training, socialisation, environments, boundaries and puppy training. Stelios is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as he is old enough. The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Stelios will adapt and become well a rounded dogs. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of consistent work. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog’s name: Stelios Where does Stelios sleep at night? He sleeps in his bed by the side of ours, he has slept well overnight since he has been here and has been clean and dry. He knows that toileting is done outside and has done wees and poos in the garden since he arrived. Occasionally he has let us know he needs a wee during the nigh How is Stelios with current pets? He plays nicely and loves to play with our two other dogs. He has shown growing confidence with them and will play "tuggy" with them. He will benefit from being with another sociable confident dog. Is Stelios clean indoors? Yes. We have had one wee indoors on Day 1, but he is consistently going out for wees and poos in the garden. Clean overnight. Can Stelios be left alone? Yes. I’ve left him for alone up to one hour and monitored him on a ‘Ring’ camera. He will settle on the sofa, or in his bed and sleep. He can be left alone in the garden for short periods, he will lay on the grass or sniff and play with the other 2 dogs. Is Stelios good out on walks? Yes. He walks nicely in a pack, no pulling. Stops and sniffs and is interested in his environment How does Stelios walk on the lead? Very relaxed, no pulling or biting the lead. He has been out on a lead walk with a friend and he behaved very well for her too. Has Stelios met other dogs? Yes. he shows no aggression or fear and wants to play. He has been very friendly towards all dogs he has met so far. He reacts well with visiting friends' dogs How is Stelios with humans? He is very friendly and will jump up when he first meets someone, we are working to stop this. Shows no fear or aggression towards humans. Have you noticed if Stelios is afraid of any particular things? He hasn’t reacted to household items such as hoovers or washing machines. Any other useful information? We have seen cats on our walks and shows no reaction. Doesn’t try to chase them and isn’t scared of them. Is absolutely fine with children. Travels well. Loves food and toys. Ideal home: Stelios would benefit from having another active dog in the home, who he can continue to learn from. He would need an active family as he will need plenty of walks and mental stimulation when he starts to grow. He has a lovely, cheeky nature and loves a sofa cuddle. 25/01 |
