This is Spiros, just arrived from Crete having spent his short life in an awful shelter there.

Spiros an this brother Stelios are superb puppies, happy, sociable and well behaved.

All adopters need to be fully committed to continuing their training, socialisation, environments, boundaries and puppy training.

Spiros is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as he is old enough.

The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Spiros will adapt and become well a rounded dogs. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of consistent work.

Please only apply if you meet the adoption criteria, age range, another dog etc.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dog’s name: Spiros

Where does Spiros sleep at night.
He has only been here two nights but has slept in the kitchen with two of my dogs. The first night he howled as we went upstairs but settled very quickly, I didn’t even need to come back down to reassure him. He was quiet all night, not a peep til we went down at 7am. The second night he didn’t make a sound at all and slept quietly until we went down at 7.

How is Spiros with current dogs/animals?

He is great. He is very respectful of my 4 dogs - they usually find puppies a bit annoying but they haven’t told him off at all! He has been cuddling up to them on the sofa and I think they just find him quite easy to be around. He got told off by one of our cats and he just ignores the cat now, so he would be absolutely fine with a confident cat.

Is Spiros clean indoors?
Not 100% yet but he is doing really well. He is weeing outside straight away when taken out to do so and on puppy pads over night. Poos are a bit more hit and miss but he has started doing them outside now so won’t be long before he has mastered it!

Can Spiros be left alone?
Yes, he has been fine when left for half an hour or so. He is fine to be shut behind a door too and he will watch me go upstairs and not try to follow. He hasn’t been left totally alone, as in he has always had my dogs with him.

Is Spiros out on walks?
Yes he is very confident on walks and enjoys them.

How does Spiros walk on the lead?

He is good on the lead, he has been walked on a slip lead and did really well.

Has Spiros met with other dogs?
Yes we have met other dogs on our walks and there have been no issues, he is curious, friendly and polite.

How is Spiros with humans?
He is a wonderful puppy, he loves people and loves to cuddle. He is equally happy with men, women and children, he is not afraid or nervous of anyone.

Have you noticed that Spiros is afraid of any particular things?

No.

Any other useful information?
He is a fabulous ready made little boy. One of the quickest young puppies we have had to house train, he learns so quickly. He is into everything, as puppies are, so will need a close eye kept on him and shoes, wires etc kept out of his reach.

He is very food motivated which will be handy for training, but he also eats extremely quickly so his adopter might wish to use a slow feeder bowl. And care also needs to be taken with him to make sure he doesn’t eat anything he shouldn’t!

What kind of home do you think would be suitable?
He is great with children and just wants to join in with what my youngest two are up to on walks. He would love a family with children I think, but they will need to be aware that he is teething and so he does mouth quite a lot with his needle teeth. It is pure playfulness and he just needs to be told
no firmly.
