Meet Melli, sibling to Emily.
These sweet girls were abandoned, unwanted and found wandering a village with no hope of a happy future.
Lucky for them they were found and kept safe in foster and prepared for travel.
They have waited many months until we agreed to help them. They are currently riving in an outside pen with access to a lower floor so they do have shelter and human attention.
They have not lived in a home environment so they will need some guidance on toilet training, rules of the home and experiencing the big happy UK life ahead of them.
Adopters must be fully prepared and detail provide full details on experience and plans to train Melli when complete an application form.
The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Melli will adapt and become a well rounded dog. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of hard work.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ADOPT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS WE ARE A SMALL TEAM AND ARE ONLY ABLE TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS IF ADOPTERS ARE READY TO ADOPT.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dogs name: Melli
Where does Melli sleep at night?
Curled up at the bottom of the bed. Milly
is a real snuggle bug and loves to sit close to you.
How is Melli with current pets?
Great. She is such a sweet natured dog. She let our kitten play with her tail and gets on with our other dogs. She loves dogs on her walk and always runs over to say hello, sometimes she barks a bit at them first. She ran away from our big cat.
Is Melli clean indoors?
Yes very, she has been let our every couple of hours but very quickly picked up that when she went into the garden it was wee time.
Can Melli be left alone?
Yes. She has been left alone for an hour so far and settled down ok. She would rather go with you though and is very pleased to see you when you return with lots of waggy tail.
Is Melli out on walks?
Yes she loves her walks. She goes out twice a day and walks well on or off the lead. She will come back to you when called although not always at first if she's met another dog but loves to race around outside and explore. She's quite brave and inquisitive.
How does Melli walk on the lead?
Very good on the lead and isnt afraid of traffic or people etc.
Has Melli met with other dogs?
Yes. She is very good with them although may bark a little at first, she really just wants to play.
How is Melli with humans? Millie is a little shy at first but quickly gets over that. She loves to have her tummy tickled and loves to be cuddled and petted. She always wants to sit close to you and has taken to sleeping on the back of the sofa!
Have you noticed if Melli is afraid of any particular things?
She is great in the car and took no time to settle around the house. If there is a loud noise or something unexpected she will run and hide but quickly recovers.
Any other useful information ? Millie is a very sweet natured dog, there is no malice in her and she just wants to be loved. She wants to stay close to you most of the time and follows me around the house settling close by.
What is Melli ideal home: Melli would love a home where she is loved and fussed a great deal. She loves everyone equally and a family would be great for Melli. Equally she would be a great companion for someone living on their own or a couple.
