Meet Marge who has just arrived from Crete and is settling down in her UK foster home while she waits to find her forever family.
Marge is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as she is old enough. Although she has spent a some time in foster, she is in need of continued training. Her new family will need to be prepared for the consistent work of introducing a pup to domestic life in the UK - basic training, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises and living in a home. Pups need consistency, socialisation, routine, walks, good diet and rules and boundaries and families must be fully prepared and committed before applying to adopt. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog's name: Marge Where does Marge sleep? She sleeps in a bed next to ours and sleeps through the night. How is Marge with other dogs/animals? Marge is a well socialised dog and likes to say hello to others on a walk. She is currently in foster with three other small dogs and enjoys being part of a pack. She has had a little play with our youngster but is generally submissive showing good dog social etiquette. Marge has not showed any interest in the chickens and ducks nor cats when we have passed them on the street. Is Marge clean indoors? Marge has not had any accidents inside. We let her outside regularly as she is only a pup and she does all her business outside. Can Marge be left alone? Marge has been left for up to an hour with our dogs and seems absolutely fine. How is Marge out on walks? Marge has been great out on walks. We have only had her 24 hours but has been off lead with 6 other dogs. She will follow the pack but will not stray too far from foster mum and dad. I think she will explore more as her confidence grows. She can sit and comes to her name. How does Marge walk on the lead? Marge is good on the lead, she is a moderate to slow walker, having the odd sniff but does not pull at all. Has Marge met with other dogs? Marge is in foster with three other dogs and has got on very well with them. She particularly likes sleeping with our 5 month old puppy. She has met medium and large sized dogs and socialises well. How is Marge with humans? Marge LOVES human cuddles and company. She is not scared of humans and immediately gravitated to the security and warmth of her foster dad’s lap. She is very affectionate but not boisterous. Have you noticed that Marge is afraid of any particular things? Marge is a little wary of cars when out on a walk but at the moment everything is new to her. What kind of home do you think would be suitable? I think Marge would suit a family home either with or without children. I think she would prefer to have a canine sibling to gain confidence from. Marge loves to spend time with other humans and dogs so she would flourish in a life with lots of interaction, fun and cuddles. Marge is a bundle of fluff, there is a tiny body underneath her beautifully soft locks of hair. She has had a great start to life with a fantastic foster mum in Crete who socialised her well with dogs and humans. I adore this little girl and it’s only been 24 hours! I think she is the perfect family member and at only four months old is clean in the house, sleeps through the night, is off the lead and wonderfully cuddly 6/4/23 |
