Poor Jessica was adopted when she arrived from Portugal on 17th December. Her adopters wanted to return her after 24 hours, they had not fully appreciated a puppy needs work. Jessica was then adopted 8 days ago after promises they would not give up on her after her last experience. Well unfortunate they were not true to their word and she was returned yesterday. The adopters said a family member was ill and that they could not keep her having to look after the family member.
As much as life brings challenges, we could not see a reason where dogs need to be given up on, people with children wouldn’t consider it, why do dogs automatically seem ok to dispense with?
So this is an adoption post and we appreciate you may have thoughts and comments but please lets keep this a positive adoption post, the challenge is to find Jessica her third and final home, no matter what life brings we are wanting adopters who will fully commit to adoption.
Jessica is a wonderful girl and luckily resilient and not phased by her 12 days in the UK. Jessica is 4.5 months, likely medium sized when fully grown, a mix breed, we do not know the breeds as parents unknown.
We feel Jessica would like another dog in the home, she has not been tested with cats. If you can offer Jessica a home for life please check the criteria and apply if a suitable match.
Below is what Jessica’s foster mum says about her:
She slept next to my bed once she is settled she sleeps right through
Gets on really well with our dog they love to play together but Jessica also has learnt very quickly doggie manners.
She hasn’t had any accidents and is going to the door to be let out.
She has been left without a problem for short periods.
Loves her walks but hasn’t had much lead training isn’t worried by traffic horses noises while out.
Loves meeting dogs and humans both on walks and at home.
Jessica is a very happy sociable energetic little puppy she is a quick learner and wants to please she just needs someone to help her understand boundaries and continue her training.
