This is Humphrey who is currently being cared in a foster home in Crete and is now ready to travel to the UK to find a forever home.

He is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Humphrey has had the benefit of time in a home environment, but his new family will still need to be prepared for the work of introducing him to living in a family home in the UK - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises.

His new family must be prepared to invest training and time and socialise him.

Please only apply if you are a match to our criteria.

Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dog's name: Humphrey

Arrival date:  1st June 2022

Where does Humphrey sleep at night?
Downstairs in his bed or on the doormat (!) with the other dogs nearby.  He goes out like a light and stays quiet and clean until he is woken in the morning.

How is Humphrey with current pets?
Very good - he has no reservations about the two resident dogs, he is confident, even with the grumpy one.  Within a day he had settled into the pack.  He is very playful with the cats, who luckily can hold their own.  I would say he would be fine with a confident, dog savvy cat.

Is Humphrey clean indoors?
Yes, there have been no accidents at all indoors to date.

Can Humphrey be left alone?
Yes, I have left him on his own (with the other dogs) and although he is over the moon when I get home, he does not appear to be fazed by being left.

Is Humphrey out on walks?
Yes, Humphrey loves walkies! He took to his lead straight away with no problems at all.  He loves to meet new people on his walk and have a fuss from them.

How does Humphrey walk on the lead?
He walks well on the lead.  There is some initial mild pulling where he is excited, but that soon settles.

Has Humphrey met with other dogs?
He is fine to meet other dogs and keen to have a sniff. He is a happy and confident little soul, and pleased to get to know everyone, dog or otherwise.

How is Humphrey with humans?
Humphrey adores human company, he loves a cuddle and a groom. He would love an active, sociable home.

We do not have children and so he has not been tested with them.  However, I would expect him to be absolutely fine with them.

Have you noticed if Humphrey is afraid of any particular things?
No.   The hoover, washing machine and hedge trimmer have all been on.  He was fine with all of this and did not react.

He has not demonstrated a fear of anything.

Any other useful information?
He eats and drinks well.  He comes when he is called.  He is fine to be bathed.   He weighs about 8.5kg.  His neck measurement is approx. 35cm and chest is approx. 50cm.

Humphrey’s ideal home – He would make a great companion for a family or couple.  He will be fine with other pets, equally I think he could also be an only dog.
A gorgeous boy who loves cuddles and to play – beware, he is a slipper thief!  He is a very affectionate dog who will make his new owners very happy.

He will make a fantastic family dog or companion for his lucky owner.
