This is George who along with his sisters, Tania and Sasha, has arrived in the UK and is now enjoying life with one of our foster families.

Their poor mum is a stray in a rural area, she keeps giving birth to at least 3 pups per litter. Local rescuers have tried for nearly 2 years to catch her, so they can neuter her to prevent her constant stream of babies. They manage to catch most of her babies and find them homes but the cycle really needs to end for everyone's' well being. Especially the mum's. But until that time, the rescuers continue to help her offspring.

George and siblings are the latest pups and now old enough to travel we would love for them to find happy lives in the UK.

George is a happy active pup who is sociable with dogs and can live with cats. He is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as he is old enough.

George has had the benefit of time in a home environment, but his new family will still need to be prepared for the work of introducing a pup to living in a family home - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises.

Please only apply if you are 100% committed to the hard work a puppy can bring, broken sleep, toilet training, socialisation, boundaries. The first week is very important and with the right boundaries and guidance George will easily adjust and make a lovely addition to any home but adopters need to be fully prepared.

Please only submit an application if you meet the criteria and are ready to proceed.

Dog's Name: George

Arrival date: 14th May 2022

Where does George sleep at night?
George sleeps downstairs with the other dogs either on the sofa or in his bed. He sleeps all night and is clean. He does have a have a little excited wee when he greets us in the morning.

How is George with current pets?
We 3 small female dogs and George has been great with them. He has been very respectful of the older 2 and leaves them alone. George likes to try to play with our younger dog, but he is a big and bouncy for her, so she will not tolerate it for long.  We also have 2 cats who George mostly ignores.  He does have an odd bark at them if they appear from nowhere. George is spooked by the chickens.

Is George clean in doors?
Yes, George has been amazing!! We get a little excited wee when he greets us but other than that he is a dream.

Can George be left alone?
Yes, George has been left with our other dogs for up to 2 hours with no problem at all. If he has been walked, he will just sleep. He is clean and has not chewed anything….so far!!

Is the George out for walks?
Yes, George loves his walks and gets excited when he sees his harness.

How does George walk on the lead?  George is great on the lead and walks nicely. We are using a harness which he is tolerating well.

Has George met other dogs?
George was very nervous of other dogs, but he is getting braver with every dog we meet.  He now wants to go and say hello and have a little sniff. We have seen no aggression whatsoever. He will need to continue his socialisation with his new family.

How is George with humans?
George is a super sweet and gentle soul. He LOVES people, particularly children and is very affectionate. He can be a little shy initially but quickly warms and wants a stroke. He loves to get as close as possible and sofa cuddles are his favourite. His coat is so soft, and he is lovely to snuggle up too.  George loves my sons who are aged 10 and 13 and they in turn adore him. He can be a bit jumpy, but he is learning. He is a typical puppy and tries to chew items of clothing such as buttons or zips so this need to be managed.

Have you noticed George is afraid of any particular things?
George is incredible and is just taking everything in his stride.  He has been great with general household noises such as the vacuum cleaner and my hairdryer. He has tackled the school run with no problems at all.  He is a bit nervous in traffic and this will need continued gradual exposure.

Any other useful information?
George is quite a picky eater and is only eating small amounts at the moment. This will hopefully improve as he settles.

I think George could live as an only dog but would need lots of doggie playdates to keep him well socialised. He would also enjoy the company of another kind and playful dog. He is getting quite boisterous (on his own terms) in his play so would need a dog who could tolerate this. He can live with cats.

George will grow fast, and he is going to need lots of exercise so would love a family who will take him for lovely long walks.

George loves being in the kitchen when we are cooking and can be a bit of a trip hazard. His enjoys helping to load the dishwasher if given a chance

George is learning about toys, and we are starting to see his playful side. He will play tug. He enjoys chewing on a hoof or an antler. He also loves running off with shoes or other articles of clothing.

George is absolutely adorable. He is funny, sweet, gentle and super, super cute. In a short space of time, he has absolutely stolen our hearts. George has so much love to give. We are so excited that he will soon find his forever home and a family who will give him all the love and kindness that he deserves. Good luck gorgeous George xx
