Diglet is one of our recent siblings who arrived from Crete last weekend.
They found themselves at the shelter in Crete so young and with all the covid issues they remained there for too long. But as soon as we could help them we did.
Now arrived in the UK they are ready to find their families.
Diglet is sociable, sweet but he has not had a home life upbringing so will need to learn the ropes.
Diglet is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as he is old enough.
His new family will need to be prepared for the hard work of a pup - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises and living in a home.
The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Diglet will adapt and become a rounded dog. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of hard work.
Please only apply if you are 100% committed to the hard work a puppy can bring, broken sleep, toilet training, socialisation, boundaries. The first week is very important and with the right boundaries and guidance Diglet will easily adjust and make a lovely addition to any home but adopters need to be fully prepared.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ADOPT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REPLY.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dog's Name: Diglet
Where does Diglet sleep at night?
Diglet sleeps on a blanket next to my bed. He has been a really good boy and slept through with no accidents.
How is Diglet with current pets?
We have 2 female Jack Russell Terriers who can be a bit grumpy with puppies. Diglet has been a good boy and respected their space. He will however stand up for himself and is not as submissive as the girls would like. This has led to a few little scraps. We also have 2 cats who Diglet has ignored so far.
Is Diglet clean indoors?
As Diglet is a puppy and we expected him to have a few accidents. We have had a couple of wees in the house so this is an area that needs to be worked on as with all puppies.
Can Diglet be left alone?
Diglet is a typical puppy and wants to chew everything. With this in mind, we did puppy-proof the area he was being left in. We left him alone for an hour today with our dogs and he seemed to cope well. We are not aware of any barking and he was settled when we came back. There was no evidence of chewing and no accidents. He doesn't like being left in a room when he knows someone is in the house and will scrabble at the door.
Is the Diglet out for walks?
Diglet is really enjoying his walks – he is loving all the new smells. He is very sociable and wants to say hello to everyone.
How does Diglet walk on the lead?
Diglet still needs to get used to the lead but so far, he is doing really well. I am using a harness and he doesn't pull at all. He is a little nervous but growing in confidence with every walk. I am really enjoying walking him as he is such a friendly boy.
Has Diglet met other dogs?
Diglet loves other dogs!! He has shown no aggression whatsoever. He just wants to play.
How is Diglet with humans?
Diglet LOVES people, especially children and is very affectionate. He is like my shadow at the moment and if allowed will follow me everywhere. He manages to wrap himself around my legs as I'm walking :-) He doesn't like it if I close the door with him on the other side and will scrabble at the door. He loves my sons who are aged 9 and 12 and they, in turn, adore him. He loves his tummy tickled and will just roll over at any opportunity. He gives the best kisses and cuddles.
Have you noticed Diglet is afraid of any particular things?
Diglet is incredible and is just taking everything in his stride. He is a puppy getting used to the world so needs introducing to things gradually. He has been great with general household noises such as the vacuum cleaner and my hairdryer. We have a busy and usually noisy house and this does not seem to bother Diglet in the slightest.
Any other useful information?
Diglet is having 3 meals a day as he is a growing puppy. He is being a bit picky with his food but he is just getting used to proper food.
I think Diglet would be ok as an only dog as he is more interested in people. If he was an only dog he would need lots of doggy play dates. He could also live with another kind and gentle dog and I think he will be super playful. I do think Diglet would like a family with children or visiting children.
Diglet is an active puppy with plenty of energy. He is going to need lots of exercise so would love a family who will take him for lovely long walks.
Diglet also loves his bed and once home from a walk he likes nothing better than to go and lie down. He is a very chilled out boy and would make a great little office companion.
Diglet is just learning about toys and is getting more and more interested in them the more that we play with him. He does need some encouragement as he needs to learn what her can and can't play with. At the moment he wants to chew electrical leads and trouser legs. He has also learnt it is a fun game to run off with slippers.
Diglet has quite a gentle woof and has only barked on a couple of occasions. This is despite our 2 dogs being very noisy girls.
Diglet is a gorgeous, fluffy teddy bear who just wants a life full of love and cuddles. He is remarkably well mannered and well adjusted for a puppy of his age and his start in life.
Diglet is just adorable and has been a dream to foster. He is funny, sweet, gentle and super, super cute. He has absolutely stolen our hearts!! We are so excited that he will soon find his forever home and a family who will give him all the love and kindness that he deserves. He has been such an amazing dog to foster and we feel privileged to have been this steppingstone in his life. Good luck gorgeous Diglet we will miss you a lot!!!
