This is Argon who, along with his siblings, Romeo and Hope, have just arrived in the UK and settling down in their foster homes. We were delighted to have found their mum, Lady, a forever home in the UK a couple of months ago.

Lady and her family, were thrown into a horrible rescue centre in Crete with not much of a future and a lot of sadness. Luckily were able to take them all to a local foster home in Crete and the little family survived. The three pups are a happy bunch who have  have  come on well with their lead and toilet training.

Argon is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as she is old enough.

Although he has spent a some time in foster, Argon is still in need of continued training. So his new family will need to be prepared for the consistent work of introducing a pup to domestic life in the UK - basic training, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises and living in a home.

He will need to meet other dogs
regularly. So we ask that all applicants provide full details in their applications of their plans for routine, walks and socialisation.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:

Dog's Name:  Argon

Where does Argon sleep at night?
Argon has been with us for 2 nights so far and he has been sleeping downstairs in the kitchen with my dogs. He is as good as gold and we don’t hear a peep from him until we go downstairs in the morning. Both mornings there has been just one wee on a puppy mat.

How is Argon with current dogs/animals?
He is great - we have 4 dogs and he just lives happily alongside them, he doesn’t annoy them, sometimes cuddles up to them but is very easygoing with them. He has also met one of our cats and after being cat-swiped by him once just happily ignores him!

Is Argon clean indoors?
He is puppy pad trained but we are helping him learn to transfer this outside. His adopters will need to continue this.

Can Argon be left alone?
Yes! We have only had him for two days but he has been left a few times, the longest so far being 1.5 hours and he has been absolutely fine. We will be steadily increasing this but are confident that he will cope.

Is Argon out on walks?
Yes, he enjoys his walks. He is a combination of wary, nosey, curious and enthusiastic! He stops to watch every car and person that passes us, all with happy wagging tail.

How does Argon walk on the lead?
He walks fine on the lead but is not yet very competent at walking in a straight line so needs a little practice! I have been walking him on a slip lead.

Has Argon met with other dogs?
Yes - he is so friendly and very keen to say hello to other dogs.

How is Argon with humans?
He is great - we have 4 children and he is happily handled by all of them. We also have had 2 visiting children and he was friendly, happy and relaxed with them too.

Have you noticed that Argon is afraid of any particular things?
No, nothing in the house. If he sees or hears something he is unsure of on a walk he will stop to consider it further! Then with a little encouragement and reassurance he is fine and off he trots. We did pass a workman with music blaring from his van and lots of high-vis cones and barriers on our first walk, he was a little wary but was quickly reassured.

Any other useful information?
Argon hasn’t chewed anything (yet) but he is an avid collector of shoes - so his adopter will need to put any particularly precious ones out of his reach!

What kind of home do you think would be suitable?
Argon is a happy, adorable and confident  little puppy. He loves being around people - both adults and children. I think he would fit easily into any home. He is very straight forward and has a lovely temperament. He would be ok as an only dog as he doesn’t rely on my dogs, but he does enjoy their company. Whilst he is ok being left for short periods he does really enjoy having his humans around him too.
