Meet Albert, poor soul was born inside an enclosure where he and his mum and siblings remained until rescued. The owner was a hunter and used mum Laura for hunting, never neutered her and the enclosure was dirty and they were not given a good life and no love.
We were allowed to take mum and Albert, the other pups he sold.
They went to foster where Albert was initially scared of people as never handled. But he slowly came around.
Albert maybe shy initially but he will blossom into a super boy. He has only been with his foster family a few days and is already showing his amazing personality, which will develop as he becomes braver.
He is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as he is old enough.
His new family will need to be prepared for the hard work of a pup - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises and living in a home.
The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Albert will adapt and become a rounded dog. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of hard work.
Please only apply if you are 100% committed to the hard work a puppy can bring, broken sleep, toilet training, socialisation, boundaries. The first week is very important and with the right boundaries and guidance Albert will easily adjust and make a lovely addition to any home but adopters need to be fully prepared.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ADOPT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REPLY.

Dog’s Name: Albert
Arrival date: 18th May 2021
Where does Albert sleep at night?
I have slept downstairs with him for the first 2 nights and Albert has been between his bed and the sofa with me. He has been waking up at 4am to play so have I confiscated all the noisy toys 😊 He goes back to sleep if ignored.
How is Albert with current pets?
We have 2 female Jack Russell Terriers who are usually a bit grumpy with puppies however they have all got along fine with Albert and ignored him. We also looked after 2 female Labradors who Albert loved. He even snuggled up with one of them. We have 2 cats and Albert has not paid them any attention at all. He is frightened of the ducks and chickens.
Is Albert clean in doors?
Not yet but we are working on this. We have had quite a few accidents, but this is improving as Albert is getting more confident in the garden. This area will need some work.
Can Albert be left alone? We have left Albert for a few short periods, and he does not like it. He will squeak and bark until we come back. He has not been destructive at all. This will need to be managed so he does not develop separation anxiety.
Is the Albert out for walks?
Initially Albert did not want to go out and was finding the outside world a very big and scary place. However, with gentle persuasion he is getting used to walking and once out is really enjoying it. He does like to be picked up and carried and it is important to resist this. He is also getting more confident in the garden. The weather has not helped as it has been very wet.
How does Albert walk on the lead?
Albert is getting used to the lead and each walk we are seeing improvements. I am using a harness and he is getting on well with this. Once he gets going, he walks fast with his nose to the ground – typical spaniel behaviour 😊
Has Albert met other dogs?
Albert likes other dogs and is enjoying meeting them. He is very submissive and will just sit or lie down and let them sniff him. He does not cope well with the bouncier dogs as he finds them quite scary.
How is Albert with humans?
Albert is a super sweet and gentle soul. He loves people and is very affectionate. He enjoys snuggling up to whoever sits down!! He literally turns to jelly. He loves my sons who are aged 9 and 12 and they in turn adore him. He has got a is very playful side which we are just beginning to see. He is nervous of new people on a walk but quickly warms to them and enjoys a fuss. In the house he is much more confident and has not been fazed by visitors at all.
Have you noticed Albert is afraid of any particular things?
Albert is incredible and is just taking everything in his stride. He is a puppy getting used to the world. He has been great with general household noises such as the vacuum cleaner and my hairdryer. He does not like sudden loud noises or movements and will bark if he is spooked. He still finds outside quite intimidating, but he just needs to get used to it.
Any other useful information?
Albert loves his food and is a hungry boy. He is having 3 meals a day as he is quite underweight. His appetite is amazing so he will soon put on some weight. He also loves cheese.
Albert is a people dog but does like to play with other dogs.
Albert is becoming more active every day and his energy levels are increasing. He is going to need lots of exercise so would love a family who will take him for lovely long walks.
Albert also loves his sleep and between energy bursts is very chilled out.
Albert loves his toys and he enjoy rummaging through the doggie toy box. He will certainly need a good selection of puppy proof toys to keep him busy.
Albert is just adorable and one of the sweetest puppies I have ever met. He is funny, gentle and super, super cute. He has absolutely stolen our hearts!! In 2 days, he has made such incredible progress and I am so proud of him. We are so excited that he will soon find his forever home and a family who will give him all the love and kindness that he deserves and craves. Good luck sweet Albert we will miss you a lot!!!
