We are excited to let you know that we will once again partner with Humane Society International - UK with helping 10 rescued Jindo-cross breed dogs who were rescued by HSI-UK from a meat farm in South Korea.
As most will be aware HSI work tirelessly to close dog meat farms and back in August 2021 they managed to close down a dog meat farm in South Korea. For more than 20 years, the farmer had bred and slaughtered dogs for human consumption. But thanks to an agreement with HSI/Korea, in partnership with local group LIFE, the farm is now closed forever, and all 65 dogs found there will never suffer for the dog meat industry again.
This particular farm also slaughtered dogs on site and one of the mums and her pups were close to the slaughter area and the horrors they have witnessed are unimaginable for us.
We are very happy to welcome 10 dogs to the Chimney Farm family. They were only pups when rescued from the farm. These 10 were taken to a safe shelter on South Korea where they have waited to be ready to travel. They were due to arrive months ago but due to COVID and flight issues they have had to wait. Growing up in a shelter. But their time is coming soon. They will arrive in the UK and will be placed in our wonderful foster homes whilst we assess them and help them adapt to UK home life.
We only have some basic information about the lucky 10 but when they arrive we will be able to determine their needs and their ideal homes, we won’t be able to accept applications until they are ready for adoption.
We are able to accept expressions of interest via the form below. You will receive an automated reply acknowledging receipt of your interest but we will not be able to proceed further until the dogs have arrived and have been assessed. So we ask you to be patient until that time.
If you are able to include as many details as possible when completing your expression of interest so we can make an assessment of suitability.
We cannot wait to meet Baloo, Blossom, Buttons, Jinsoo, Lumi, Molly, Firecracker, Moby, Moon and Yukio and make them realise that life and humans' life can be kind.
