This is Jinsoo one, of our wonderful South Korean meat farm rescue dogs. One of
70 dogs kept in horrifically cruel conditions, on metal bars, waiting for their age of slaughter, watching other dogs being slaughtered. Mothers having babies. Such a cruel life for these sweet sentient souls. We welcomed 10 of the Farm 17 dogs into the UK Saturday 9th April and they all went to live with our wonderful foster families to help them learn to live in homes with families, adapt to normal home noises, teaching them to walk and enjoy human company. All the dogs are adapting so well and we are always surprised how amazing dogs are and how they forgive and are able to move past their pasts. Jinsoo is a wonderful girl who has bonded to her foster family and resident pet doggies. She is fully vaccinated and microchipped, Jinsoo has started her season, not ideal but she is very clean and you wouldn't really know she was, but adopters would need to be very careful until finished and commit to neutering. Jinsoo isn't the finished article yet and she will need an experienced understanding home, with another sociable dog under age 10. The family must be able to give our girlie guidance and help her progress and show her all about UK life. She is clean indoors, enjoys her walks, can be handled and comes to her family for affection. Please read below a full write up from her foster home. IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE CRITERIA OR ARE NOT ABLE TO HAVE A HOME CHECK AND MEET SOON PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REPLY. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog's name: JINSOO – (Jin Jin) Where does Jinsoo sleep at night? Jinsoo has been sleeping downstairs with the other dogs, she sleeps on the floor at the moment. How is Jinsoo with current pets? Jinsoo has been brilliant with our dogs so far, we have two busy working cocker spaniels and a lively small mixed breed pup. She has been following their lead and this has made her more sociable with us. She is happy around the other dogs, she has her tail up and wagging. She plays nicely and goes into the play bow, she has playfully pawed our dogs and watches them constantly. It has been lovely to watch. It has really brought her on. She is more confident and happy with our dogs than without them. She is actually looking to play quite a bit. Is Jinsoo clean indoors? Yes, Jinsoo had one accident but now is fully clean indoors and has started to toilet on her walks. Can Jinsoo be left alone? She has been left with the other dogs whilst I go upstairs and left with them overnight. I left her 40-50 minutes whilst walking the other dogs on my return she was relaxed and asleep on the floor. Is Jinsoo out on walks? She has been on several walks now and has improved each time. We live in a rural area so it has been fairly quiet for her, there is minimal passing traffic but It has not seemed to bother her yet. She is walked in the morning and late afternoon or evening. So at least two walks a day. How does Jinsoo walk on the lead? I have walked her on a normal length lead then also attached a long lead and she had a good trot around a field. I have not let the lead go. She enjoys watching the other dogs and has run after them a little bit Has Jinsoo met with dogs? Yes, no issues, has a sniff and moves past. No issues. How is Jinsoo with humans? She is nervous around humans but she is growing in confidence daily, she will let me carry her and stroke her, she loves a tickle behind the ears. She loves a lick of cream cheese. She loves a gentle rub. When I am excited with our dogs she comes over and is interested and will come for a stroke. Have you noticed if Jinsoo is afraid of any particular things? She doesn’t like any quick sudden movements, she is still getting used to having her lead clipped on and off. She will still back off if we go towards her but we let her come to us or she joins in when our dogs welcome us. Any other useful information ? She is enjoying her food. She is currently fed twice a day morning and late afternoon, she has been fed butternut box with a bit of cream cheese mixed in. She eats out of a bowl and separately on her own away from our other dogs. She has come on so well in the short time we have had her. She is a beautiful character and is becoming very playful with our dogs. We currently let her come to us, we do not over crowd her as she seems happy with slow and often short contact. Initially she seemed to find security sitting by a fence or behind a table and peeking out at us. She is now freely wandering around the house and comes in and out of the back door by herself after being carried a few times. I think she will be a beautiful dog for someone with time, patience and calmness. She is becoming more relaxed each day her tail is up and she seems quite relaxed today. Really happy with her progress in this very short space of time. She has also travelled well in the back of my car. She was washed and shampooed with no fuss at all and seemed to quite like it. 17/04 |
