The Adoption Process
Unsuccessful Enquires
We are a small team dedicated to rescuing and helping as many dogs as we can, so our main focus has to be on the potential adopters who meet our criteria, are suitable for the dog they are applying for and who are ready to bring a dog home. We apologise if we are unable to answer every enquiry that is a no so if you have not heard back from us within 48 hours then your enquiry has been unsuccessful.
The reason we ask adopters to be ready to bring a dog home is our process can move quickly especially if the dog is available and waiting in foster for their forever home with some adopters having their home check the same day as they adopt so please if you have completed an enquiry but can not take a dog home in the next 1-4 days (if dog is available and in UK foster), kindly check our website once you are and get back in contact if the dog is still available or there is another suitable dog.
We believe that offering a rescue dog a home is offering a home for life. Of course we offer support should anything untoward happen however we ask all our adopters to carefully consider what it means to offer a dog a home for life and the commitment involved before moving forward with the process.
- On receipt of your enquiry form one of our re-homing team will be in contact via email if you meet the adoption criteria and are suitable for the dog you are applying for.
- We aim to respond to successful enquiries within 48 hours and our initial email can go into your spam / junk folder so please check there in case your email provider has deemed our first response unsafe and sent it to your spam folder in error.
- All potential adopters will be required to complete a home check to ensure their home, garden is a secure environment and can offer one of our dogs a loving home before meeting any of our dogs.
- We can receive a high volume of enquires for our dogs especially the puppies so we are unable to hold or promise a dog to any potential adopters before a home check pass has been completed.
- Once home check passed arrangements can be made to meet the dog, you can adopt the dog on this visit if a suitable match.
- You will be required to complete an adoption contract which covers all aspects of adopting a dog from us. It also sets out your commitment to providing a happy and safe environment for your new family member. If you would like to take a look at the contract click here
- All of our dogs from outside the UK come with a full pet passport, are vaccinated and microchipped. Dogs over 6 months will normally be neutered. It will state in the dog's profile if it is not and why. For dogs under 6 months adopters must agree to neuter when the dog is mature enough.
