Poor mum Zizzi has had an awful few years of her life, she was owned by a Greek family who made her live on their small balcony all her life, no walks not even good nutrition. A local rescue were informed about her and they took her to the vets for malnutrition, her family didn't want to give her up so they were warned and kept and eye on. Zizzi gave birth to Bobbi, then the two of them lived on the balcony. Not neutered and so frustrated.
The family agreed to give the dogs for adoption so we agreed to find them families.
Zizzi and Bobbi are wonderful dogs considering the life they have had to endure.
Zizzi is small sized, a bundle of love and sweetness.
We want Zizzi to have another playful; sociable dog in the home under 8 years.
Her new family will need to be prepared for the work of introducing her to her new surroundings - socialisation, walking, getting used to a routine and learning the ropes of her forever home.
With the right boundaries and guidance she will all adjust and make a great family pet. We ask our adopters to be 100% sure they are ready to commit to the training and hard work required.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dogs name: Zizzi
Where does Zizzi sleep at night?
Zizzi has the freedom of downstairs at night. She splits her time between her bed and the sofa.
How is Zizzi with current pets?
She’s been brilliant. She was a little unsure at first and spent the first day just watching them and taking it all in. And then she decided it was far more fun to join in. She’s been playing rough and tumble with them and gets so excited for her walk.
Is Zizzi clean indoors?
She is mostly dry indoors. But she doesn’t ask to go out. We have to make sure we offer her the garden every hour or so. When she does go outside she’ll happily toilet out there.
Can Zizzi be left alone?
Yes, we’ve left her a few times, just for 15 minutes or so. She sit patiently by the door waiting for you to come home. This can be built up over time but I don’t think she’ll have any problems being left alone for a short while.
Is Zizzi out on walks?
Yes, she is super excited for walks. She gets so excited it’s hard to keep her still to get her harness on.
How does Zizzi walk on the lead?
She does pull a lot. I have her on a harness and lead. She will need some work but while everything is so exciting its difficult to get her attention. She is literally into everything. Every single little thing is exciting.
Has Zizzi met with other dogs?
Yes, she has met a few. She gets very excited by other dogs. She loves to have a sniff and then is happy to move on. I’ve also been for a walk with a friend and Zizzi loved running and playing with her little dog.
How is Zizzi with humans?
She is great with humans. She is very interested. She took a treat from a lady we met on a walk with her dog. She is very inquisitive about everything.
Have you noticed if Zizzi is afraid of any particular things?
No, not a thing so far.
Any other useful information?
Zizzi has been an absolute joy to have in our house. She is happy, affectionate, playful and energetic . Considering the bad start she had in her life, she has so much love to give.
She is obsessed with food and does like to jump up at the kitchen worktops. She will steal any food she can find. So her new owners will need to be mindful of this.
