Meet Vega, poor girl has was dumped on the street with her mum and 3 other siblings.
Taken to a shelter and left there without any hope of freedom unless we helped her. Such a nice little family. Her mum Mavis and sibling Mildred got their lucky tickets a few months ago, now it's the time for the 2 remaining siblings Vega and Barney. Mavis is a wonderful mum and character and her children are the same lovely nature. Vega has spent a little time in foster, but is still in need of continued training. So her new family will need to be prepared for the consistent work of introducing a pup to domestic life in the UK - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises and living in a home. The decision to adopt a rescue dog should not be taken lightly - we have had dogs returned as people have not been fully prepared for the consistent work that maybe needed. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Vega will adapt well to her new UK life. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog's name: Vega Where does Vega sleep at night? In her bed next to ours, & sleeps right through. How is Vega with current dogs/animals? Very neutral with the other dogs she’s living with, she totally ignores the cats. Can be wary of male dogs if they get too close. Is Vega clean indoors? Yes, been a little superstar & will go in the garden in the same spot. Can Vega be left alone? Yes, we’ve left her for up to 2 hrs & she’s relaxed after an initial bit of whining. But if she knows you’re in the house she’ll want to be with you. Is Vega out on walks? Yes she’s really enjoying her walks, started to learn how to play when out too. How does Vega walk on the lead? Like a dream, walks at your side & doesn’t pull. Has Vega met with other dogs? Yes she’s living with our 3, plus met other dogs we have boarding. Also taken her on group walks & she’s been so good. How is Vega with humans? Vega has been pretty confident with everyone she has met, she loves a fuss. Bit wary of small children though. Have you noticed if Vega is afraid of anything? She doesn’t like loud traffic passing, larger male dogs getting too close or the hoover. Any other useful information . Vega is just the sweetest soul, such a chilled girl. She learnt to show affection within a day of arriving & loves a snuggle. She really enjoys her walks, & has learnt to play with a ball. Vega will make someone a great companion, just an all round great girl. What kind of home do you think would be suitable? Vega would suit an adult only or family with older children. She can live with other dogs & cats, but loves human company so she could be an only dog. 13/08 |
