This is Tiffy who has recently arrived from a shelter in Portugal. Despite having only known life on the streets and in a shelter, she has settled in to her foster home very well and is proving to be the perfect house guest.
Tiffy had a tough time in Portugal, abandoned whilst heavily pregnant, must have been a very tough and worrying time for her. She gave birth to her babies but also when at the shelter helped nurse other pups with a struggling mum.
A wonderful girl who deserves her forever home in the UK where she can relax and be part of a family of her own.
Tiffy is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
She still needs to adjust to her new surroundings - particularly the noises associated with busy roads.
With the right boundaries and guidance she will all easily adjust and make a great family pet. We ask our adopters to be 100% sure they are ready to commit to the training and hard work required.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ADOPT NOW PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REPLY.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dog's name: Tiffy
Where does Tiffy sleep at night?
Tiffy sleeps either in the lounge or in the hallway on a bed, she settles well as soon as the lights are out and sleeps all night without a peep.
How is Tiffy with current pets?
We have our own dog but Tiffy is not interested in him at all, we have met a few cats whilst out on walks and she wants to chase, it’s not an aggressive chase but a fun chase so I don’t think she can live with a cat.
Is Tiffy clean indoors?
Tiffy has been clean indoors, no accidents at all.
Can Tiffy be left alone?
Tiffy has been left on her own for a short 15-minute period each day, and then an hour, each time has been after a walk and she just sleeps, her excitement on our return is so lovely to see.
Is Tiffy out on walks?
Tiffy enjoys her walks in the park, she is not so good along the roads as she is scared of the cars, but this is improving with each walk we do. Tiffy is an active girl and will need 2 good walks a day.
How does Tiffy walk on the lead?
Tiffy walks well on a lead, she pulls a little along the road, but this is because she wants to get away from the road and the cars. As soon as we are away from the busy road, she settles… we have used an extending lead in the park to give her a bit more freedom. She can also pull a little if she gets a scent or see’s a cat, she will take chase on a cat if given the chance. Tiffy will need some lead training and we are working on this now.
Has Tiffy met other dogs?
Tiffy is very polite when meeting other dogs, no problems at all.
How is Tiffy with humans?
Tiffy loves people although a little shy at first, especially with men, she soon warms up and wants nothing more than to be fussed, loved and played with.
Have you noticed that Tiffy is afraid of anything in particular?
Tiffy is scared of roads and cars, although she travels well in the car.
Any other useful information?
Tiffy is a very sweet but active girly. She loves her home comforts and to cuddle up on the sofa, she likes to play with toys and will need plenty to keep her busy, she enjoys squeaky toys, soft toys and a buffalo horn or an antler to chew on.
She is a people dog and loves to be around you, I think she can live with or without another dog in the home as she learns quickly. She loves her food. She is a very easy dog who wants nothing more than to be loved, fussed, played with and a warm bed to curl up on. She can be a little bit cheeky, but this is to be expected with her age, she will need boundaries to be set but she is very bright and listens and learns quickly.
