Storm is between 2.5 and 3 year old, he is a shy lad who needs a home to show him how to trust humans again. He has no aggression at all and loves other dogs.
He was originally brought to the shelter along with his siblings after the bad fires in Athens the year before last where they have all remained since. Known as the fire dogs, for a long time they were left without much human contact as they were understandably scared dogs after what they had been through but by being left alone they were given no chance of learning to trust again, so this year we persuaded the volunteers at the shelter to start working with them as these poor dogs were locked in confinement with no human contact at all and no basics every dog should have, walks, interaction, grooming and love.
Over this last few months they have progressed but are still shy, Storm has come the furthest and we know he has it in him to be a loving dog with time and patience in a caring home. He is ready for a home environment where he can relax from the noise of the shelter and learn to be a loved pet.
Storm is medium to large, sweet natured, he is approx 2.5-3 years old. Neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. He is healthy boy considering what he as gone through, all his feet were burnt on arrival, they have since heeled but he remains scarred from his injuries. He walks on the lead but can be afraid of loud noises and will need time to get used to things out on walks once he moves into a home, he is sociable with other dogs and we feel he would benefit from another dog in the home to show him life doesn't have to be scary, this is not essential if the right home comes along without another dog.
We know Storm has a chance of a better life, we just need to find the right place for him to recover from his life prior to going into the shelter and while he as been there with no interaction, he has to learn to trust and bond with his family but he does have it in him.
Storm has been let down by humans, let's show him we can fix the damage they have done. If you think you could offer this sweet boy the loving home he deserves please read through our adoption policy and complete an adoption enquiry form to register your interest.
