Stanley is an older boy, a very sad story. Likely he was abandoned at the shelter many years ago. Then the shelter owner for whatever reason adopted him and he lived in her home for many years. Now at age 12 he was thrown back into the shelter a few weeks ago. The shelter owner is very sick and her family want to keep all the inheritance for themselves so no more help to the shelter. No choices for the owner and too sick to fight them. Her dogs thrown back into the shelter. No care that they are elderly or the mental trauma that would be caused. Just get them out of the house.
When I visited a few weeks ago they had been back at the shelter for less than a week. Long nails and shaking. Bewildered. We moved them to a foster home as just so unfair for them.
Murphy the other boy will be next to travel but Stanley got his chance.
Stanley is a lovely boy, he would love a calm home, two short walks and a human to cuddle him.

Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dogs name: Stanley
Where does Stanley sleep at night?
Either on the end of the bed or on a blanket. He has slept solidly overnight since he has been here.
How is Stanley with current pets?
Not interested in playing and doesn’t like to be crowded. Is tolerant of a friendly dog but will show his teeth at a dog that shows him aggression.
Is Stanley clean indoors?
Yes. He lets me know he needs the toilet and will go in the garden or out on his walk. Clean overnight.
Can Stanley be left alone?
Yes. I've left him for short 15 minute periods and monitored him on a ‘Ring’ camera. He will settle on the sofa and sleep.
Is Stanley good out on walks?
Yes. He walks nicely already but is a little nervous so with lots more practice, he should be calm and well behaved on his lead. He is happy to sniff and hasn’t pulled. He is interested in things and is alert. Shows no fear of cars or traffic
How does Stanley walk on the lead?
Has he met other dogs? Only a couple. He is a bit shy but will meet and greet them nicely, no barking or lunging.
How is Stanley with humans? Very friendly. He will allow people to stroke him and make a fuss of him. He loves to sit beside you on the sofa and be cuddled. He is very calm in the home and just craves human attention.
Have you noticed if Stanley is afraid of any particular things?
Any other useful information?
Not tested on cats or children. . Doesn’t guard food.
He would be ideally suited to a home where he is the only pet. He loves to sunbathe in the garden, doesn’t bark inside and is happy to sit and watch the world go by! He is clean and quiet and hasn’t chewed anything. He loves a walk and is relaxed and calm on his lead. Travels well.
