Sooty arrived 8th November but his neuter wound needed a bit longer to heal and he has an appointment with the dentist so will be ready to move to his forever home Friday 20th November. So please only apply if you're ready to adopt him then.
Sooty has been a really good boy in foster since arriving, sweet natured, calm, likes his walks, his cuddles. He is clean indoors, a really sweet boy.
He may need a few days to resettle in his forever home but wont take him long.
His ideal home will be an only dog someone who will allow him cuddles on the sofa, not leave him long hours and enjoy walks.
IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO ADOPT FRIDAY 20TH, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS OUR ADOPTION PROCESS CAN BE SPEEDY ONCE WE IDENTIFY A SUITABLE HOME.
SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES WILL BE IN PLACE TO ALLOW MEETING/ADOPTIONS.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Where does Sooty sleep at night?
First 2 nights I slept downstairs with Sooty thereafter he slept on his own downstairs with my own dog. In his bed or sofa and been absolutely fine.
How is Sooty with other pets?
I have my own dog and Sooty is fine with him. However, Sooty for now is not interested in playing and happy to have his own space. He has met other dogs outside our home and is happy to say hello.
Is Sooty clean indoors?
Yes since day one had no accidents.
Can Sooty be left on his own?
Yes he has been left for 2 hours on his own and been fine.
How is Sooty on walks?
Sooty walks well on lead, but can sometimes be a bit overwhelmed by wide open spaces and needs a little encouragement to carry on walking . That said Sooty enjoys his walks and sniffing his new surroundings.
How is sooty with other dogs ?
Sooty is fine with my own dog and happy to meet other dogs on walks. Understandably He prefers a gentle introduction rather than dogs bounding up too him which is the same with most dogs.
How is Sooty with humans ?
Sooty definitely enjoys human company. He would seek me out and likes to know what I’m up too. He would benefit in a calm household probably with no young children.
Is Sooty afraid off different things ?
The only thing I’ve noticed is when the hoover comes out - Sooty departs to another room.
Any other useful information?
Sooty was neutered before travelling and noticed a slight open wound-we think he had pulled stitches out. Sooty has been to my vet and is on antibiotics as a precaution.
Special boy Sooty has been a delight to foster and has adapted well considering the changes he’s had in his life. He makes us smile when he puts his little paw on my lap for attention also likes to see what I’m doing I’m the garden /kitchen. He iscurious about his new life in UK.
Sooty such a joy to have around and we’ll miss him dearly.
Ideal Home ?
Sooty needs a calm home and would be happy with either situation being an only dog or in a home with a calm older dog. I believe wouldn’t cope with a high energy, playful dog.
Sooty is an inquisitive little boy and would be the most lovable, loyal family member.
Bless him x
