Poor Molly was adopted as Faye over 18 months ago. She believed she had found her forever home.
Unfortunately for her this was not the case, her family had a baby and slowly Molly was given less and less attention and then we were asked to take her back.
Her family said she was being naughty, scared of men and barked a lot.
We took her back into our care and she went to foster and wow what a great girl she is.
Below is what her foster mum Ali says about her.
Molly is a mixed breed, medium sized female, approx 2 years old, neutered and ready to find a family who will not give up on her, will walk, socialise and continue the guidance her foster parents have given her.
Dogs name: Molly
Where does Molly sleep at night? Downstairs on Alfie’s (resident dog) top bunk bed or on the floor in her bed. She moaned when first left but by day 2 settled just fine. She sleeps with my 2 dogs.
How is Molly with current pets? Loves both my spaniels. Plays for ages with my younger one. She’s not sure about Max cat as he doesn’t run away so she stares at him and whimpers then walks off. Max is a very confident cat and is boss!
Is Molly clean indoors? Yes since day 1.
Can Molly be left alone?
She paces and moans for a few minutes and then settles. She’s been left for over an hour and no problems.
Is Molly out on walks? Yes loves them. She’s on 2 per day. We have her on a long line to test her recall and she plods along. Tested her off lead in an open area and she loves to follow my young spaniel and mooch about. Visits other dogs but is very gentle and doesn’t outstay her welcome. Her recall is really good but will need some work when there’s distractions (squirrels/deer).
How does Molly walk on the lead? Very good and doesn’t pull. We have her on a harness at the moment or slip lead.
Has Molly met with other dogs? Yes and she is very polite. Likes to play with the more energetic dogs.
How is Molly with humans? Met lots of people and had people come to the house. She greets them enthusiastically. Met a lady in a yellow jumper in the pub who she barked at but responded well to correction.
Have you noticed if Molly is afraid of any particular things? A little scared of loud noises and bangs. Not happy with fireworks but not petrified. A bit jumpy around traffic but getting used to it each day.
Any other useful information ? She absolutely loves soft toys and will collect them all up. She does nibble them a bit but so funny watching her throw them. Likes to throw balls too! She barks if someone comes to the door but excited to see visitors. She loves to be touching you and loves to lean against you for reassurance.
Molly jumps up with excitement when greeting you but we’re working on this.
She gets her confidence from my other dogs and plays well with our younger dog. Molly is respectful of our older dog, who has told her the rules of the house.!
She isn’t greedy around food but may protect her bowl from other dogs.
She’s happy to share non food related items, toys, chew toys and balls. She actively brings them to my other dog to play.
Food: She has been on a selection at the moment and currently on forthglade, butternut box and raw chicken wings.
