Meet our wonderful girl Gina. Gina found herself living in the sadness of the Crete shelter for most of her life. We do not know why she was left at the shelter gates, all we know if that she has not lived the life all dogs deserve.
We moved Gina to a foster kennels a few weeks ago as we were not sure now safe the shelter dogs were - poor girl became quite sad. Kennels is hard for all dogs and Gina had only known the shelter.
Gina arrived a few days ago and wow what a girl. Gina is amazing, clean, friendly, sociable. Just an adorable pretty well behaved girl.
Considering she has only known life on the streets and in a shelter, she has blossomed. But it is all still new to her so she needs to get used to all the noises and experiences of UK life.
With the right guidance she will all easily adjust and make a great family pet. We ask our adopters to be 100% sure they are ready to fully commit a rescue dog.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ADOPT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REPLY.
Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Where does Gina sleep at night?
Gina sleeps downstairs in the living room and has access to the kitchen and other downstairs areas. She has been in her bed but prefers a nice comfy sofa …who can blame her!
How is Gina with current pets?
Gina is living with two dogs and two cats .She has no interest in cats and would prefer to give them a wide berth .She gets along nicely with my dogs.
Is the Gina clean indoors?
Is Gina out on walks and how does she walk on lead?
Gina loves her walks, when she sees the lead she gets very excited .
She walks ahead but very politely .
Has Gina met other dogs?
Yes Gina has met other dogs on her walks and, if allowed to approach she is very polite with a sniff and a tail wag .
How is Gina with humans?
Gina is a very gentle soul. She will approach with caution and builds up trust quickly. She has been lovely with my two youngest children 9 and 10 years old .She was more cautious with my husband, but now after being talked to very gently, she goes and has cuddles with him. Gina is a very tactile dog and would happily sit with you for snuggles and kisses all day.
Has Gina been left alone?
Yes Gina has been left for over two hours with my dogs and cats and has been a superstar. I am greeted with a big sloppy kiss on return and a very waggie tail .
Have you noticed Gina is afraid of any particular things?
Nothing has phased this girl apart from the hoover 😂which she watched from a far distance .
We have seen cyclists on walks and she couldn’t be less bothered.
The perfect family for Gina
Gina would suit a home with or without children. She can be rehomed with cats also. I don’t think Gina really needs another dog, but would be fine either way .
She is so so loving, chilled, clumsy and very easy going. She loves walks /water so an active family who could take her on lots adventures would be lovely.
Anyone would be so lucky to have this snuggle bum in their lives.
Gina travels well in the car and has adapted amazingly well to everything .She is being fostered in a busy, non stop household and she just seems to know what to do and how to behave.
A little angel !!
