Meet lovely girl Fern from Crete.
Whilst our founder Jennifer was on holiday in Crete and out running she ran around a corner to find 4 pups running in the road, on a bend, unsafe. She stopped to say hi, they were a little wary of her, but as she stopped a lady came out of a nearby house, after a discussion is transpired she feeds the pups but she has no plan for them and cannot keep them. The lady has 4 other dogs, one on a chain poor thing. Jennifer offered to help and the lady accepted, all dogs went to the vets for health checks, flea and worming and a vaccination as they had not had anything. A few days later they were moved to our lovely foster mum in Crete. Now Fern and siblings are ready to find forever homes in the UK. Fern is fully vaccinated and microchipped, but is still too young to be neutered so adopters will be asked to commit to doing this as soon as she is old enough. Fern has had the benefit of some time in a home environment, but her new family will still need to be prepared for the work of introducing a pup to living in a family home - basic training, toileting, walking on and off lead, getting used to noises. The decision to adopt a puppy should not be taken lightly - we have had puppies returned as people have not been fully prepared for the hard work that can come. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Fern will adapt and become a rounded dog. But please do not underestimate this can mean a few weeks of hard work We expect Fern to travel to the UK soon. Our adoption process can be quick so, if you would like to adopt her, please make sure your calendar is free of commitments that would prevent you meeting and adopting. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog's name: Fern More information coming soon. |
