Welcome Esther who has recently arrived from Crete an older lady who found herself dumped in a Cretan shelter.
So sad at her time of life, she should have a nice retirement home, walks and a cosy bed. Lucky for Esther she got her ticket out of hell. Esther is a wonderful girl, fun and very happy and spritely. Clean indoors, loves her walks, off lead and well behaved. Esther is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Things you need to know about Esther She just wants to give so much love, she’s happiest when snuggled next to you, whether that’s at your feet at the pub or curled into you while watching tv. She’s all about her people! She’ll be the most loyal and loving companion. Always ready for an adventure or fun, she’ll slot confidently into any situation and just want me a home to help her live life and love life to the full xx Esther is around 10 years old, she has had her vet check, usual lumps and bumps and she needs a little yumove to keep her joints healthy as with older dogs comes a little stiffness. Any adopters need to be aware Esther is a lovely sweet happy wonderful girl but she is 10 years old and will need some Yumove and keep her walk routine so no crazy long ones but regular walks and she will repay you with fun and love. She has a healthy heart and lungs and as much as she has had a tough life in Crete she is still a strong happy lady with many years ahead of her to enjoy we hope. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dog's name: Esther Arrival date 27th July 2023 Where does Esther sleep at night? Esther sleeps in her bed in the kitchen, with our other dogs. She loves a bed – any bed will do! She settles quickly in her bed and sleeps well no issues. Our routine is up at 6 for her first wee. In the evenings, around 7pm she takes herself off to bed and settles and snoozes, she likes to be in the room while we’re watching TV but is happy to chill. How is Esther with current pets? Esther has settled in quickly with our other dogs, a male and female. She pays them little attention most of the time and they all rub along together. She invites play and has lovely doggie manners. Is Esther clean indoors? Esther is a completely clean and dry inside and indicates to go out when she needs. Can Esther be left alone? Esther settles in her bed or on the sofa after a couple of minutes and is happy to snooze while we pop out, she has been left for 3 hours no issues. Is Esther out on walks? Esther loves being outside, she walks nicely on a lead on the road. She loves the fields and to sniff. Esther is confident and wants to explore. We are building up her fitness but is happy with 45mins in the woods, she is enjoying some off elad time and so far going well. How does Esther walk on the lead? Esther is on lead and is responsive, she can pull a little when excited to meet a person or another dog, but listens and walks nicely. Esther is off lead in the fields and comes back well when called. Has Esther met with other dogs? Esther is polite and likes to meet other dogs, she responds to their instructions, she is happy to move on when called, she is a sociable pup. How is Esther with humans? Esther wants to love everyone; she is confident when meeting people, she shows no shyness and walks straight up to new people with a waggy tail. Have you noticed if Esther is afraid of any particular things? Esther doesn’t much like the hoover and moves to the other side of the room, but she is ok with cars, loud bangs and household sounds. Any other useful information? Esther is an older lady, but she doesn’t know it! She’s happy in shops, at a busy market and at the pub. She likes to meet people. She is a social butterfly. She’s not food motivated but loves to be close to her people and a fuss is all the praise she needs She loves to chase a ball in the house and pounce and shaking soft toys are her favourite. What is Esther’s ideal home: Esther has so much love to give, she is funny, and has a great character. Esther is her own person and knows what she likes and doesn’t. Mostly she wants to be around people, whether working from home, or watching tv, or cruising in the car. She’ll follow her people anywhere! Esther would like a home with people around, clear boundaries and a routine, she gets the hang of ‘walk time’ and ‘dinner time’ very quickly. She does not need another dog in the home to be happy but can live with another non bouncy dog. Things you need to know about Esther She just wants to give so much love, she’s happiest when snuggled next to you, whether that’s at your feet at the pub or curled into you while watching tv. She’s all about her people! She’ll be the most loyal and loving companion.
