Our dogs need the guidance which other dogs provide so we are asking for experienced, committed adopters who have another friendly dog in the house. You must be committed to the patience and training required with all rescue dogs, as this can be a lot of work and we want to ensure adopters are fully committed so dogs do not get returned as this is very unsettling for the dogs.
Our dogs deserve better after all they have endured in their short lives.

Meet sweet little Emma, she has waited all her life to leave the shelter in Crete. She has only know confinement, no walks, cuddles or attention.
Emma has settled in lovely to UK life, she was afraid at first, but it has nto taken her long to blossom.
Emma loves other dogs and enjoys playing so we do want another sociable dog in the home.
Emma still has some adapting to the big bad world, her family will need to be prepared to settle her in, show her the ropes, walks, socialisation and she will need some time patience and training.

Our foster home has provided the feedback below:
Dogs name: Emma
Where does Emma sleep at night?
Emma has been sleeping in our room with the other dogs. She has her own bed which she does sleep in but is much happier at the end of the bed.
How is Emma with current pets?
Emma is very playful but respectful with the other dogs in the house. We have small and large dogs in the house and she has been happy with all of them.
Is Emma clean indoors?
Yes, we had 1 accident on the day she arrived but as soon as we showed her the garden she has been dry indoors ever since. She wakes up at 6 am and the first thing she does is go to the garden for toilet.
Can Emma be left alone?
Yes, we have been leaving her everyday for up to 30 minutes and she has been fine. She wanders around looking for someone for a few minutes then settles in her bed. We will be building this time up gradually.
Is Emma out on walks?
Yes, but she is still a little nervous of the world. We are trying to take her out 2 or 3 times a day and with each walk she is getting more confident.
How does Emma walk on the lead?
She walks well on a harness with a little encouragement. She’s a little all over the place but its still a bit new to her and she is progressing well. When comfortable she makes a lot of eye contact.
Has Emma met with other dogs?
Yes, she was a bit nervous and it takes a little time but she will say hello to other dogs on a walk.
How is Emma with humans?
Emma has been great with the humans in our household but is a little nervous of strangers. She loves a cuddle and a fuss. She would spend all day on your lap if she could!
Have you noticed if Emma is afraid of any particular things?
She is afraid of cars and vans when on a walk. Especially noisy ones. Also, of loud bangs. We have the army setting off noisy explosions and she wasn’t keen. She found a place to hide and came out between bangs to see if they were gone.
Any other useful information ?
Emma is very cuddly. She loves to snuggle on the sofa and have a cuddle. She likes to play dead on your lap.
She travels well in the car, with a comfy blanket she will sleep. She is very intelligent. We are learning sit and down at the moment and she’s picking it up very well.
