Meet Cotton, a friendly and sociable young lady rescued from a horrible hoarder in Crete.
Cotton is so happy and grateful for her new life. Cotton is the happiest girl and loves all dogs and people and is just a happy girl full of love for life. Cotton is well behaved girl, clean indoors, sleeps through the night, Cotton is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. The decision to adopt a rescue dog should not be taken lightly - we have had dogs returned as people have not been fully prepared for the consistent work that can be needed. If you invest time and energy into the advice we give you, Cotton will adapt well. Our foster home has provided the feedback below: Dogs name: Cotton Arrival date: Sunday 14th May 2023 Cotton is a confident bundle of joy and energy. Where does Cotton sleep at night? She sleeps downstairs through the night with one of my dogs. She sleeps through the night without a peep and doesn’t stir until she hears us moving around. How is Cotton with current pets? I have an elderly female dog whom she is very respectable of and gives her space. She loves to play with my young male dog who is very playful and tolerant. Is Cotton clean indoors? Yes. Completely clean and does her business in the garden or on her walks. Can she be left alone? She has been left with my dogs for 4 hours. We monitored her on the camera and she slept on her bed and wasn’t stressed at all. Is Cotton out on walks? Yes, she loves her walks and is happy to have her harness and lead put on. She is currently having 3 walks a day with my dogs. We walk her early morning before breakfast and late afternoon/ early evening, before supper. These are generally 40 - 60 mins duration. She also has a short toilet walk at night just before bed. She generally goes to toilet in the garden as soon as she wakes up in the morning. We drive to the walk so she is used to the van and travels well. She happily jumps in the van with my other dogs and travels well. How do they walk on the lead? Cotton loves her walks and is alot of fun. She has been off lead and her recall is very good. She likes human reassurance and will readily return for a treat. She can be excitable, mostly at the beginning of the walk, and can pull on the lead but she is very light so easy to correct her. She does listen and will ease. Her walks are all new and fun. But settling each day. Have they met with other dogs? Yes. She has met lots of different dogs of various sizes. She loves to say hello and is very respectful when being introduced on lead. She will happily walk alongside other dogs. She loves to play but can be a little over excited when off lead. She loves to run and play chase but does return for a treat. How are they with humans? She is confident and friendly with people both out on a walk and with visitors to the house. She loves a cuddle. She is happy to sit in the café and be made a fuss of. She has met small children and appears to love them but we monitor as she may jump. Have you noticed Cotton is afraid of any particular things? She is a confident, sociable dog and doesn’t appear to be fazed by anything. Other useful info: Cotton is an affectionate, lively girl who would suit an active family. She loves the company of other dogs so ideally have another confident, tolerant dog who would enjoy lots of play time. 28/05
