A special appeal for a special girl Coco.
Coco had been at the shelter for over 4 years poor soul. She would have endured some dark times there but she always had her pal Stanley to help her through. These two buddies stuck close and Coco really relies on him.
They never stopped wagging their tails and it’s a testament to dogs after all the horrors humans can do their spirit remains.
They had waited for their time to come and that was a few weeks ago, when they both traveled to the UK.
Because they were so bonded we wanted them to go to foster together and adapt to UK life before we separated them. It may seem cruel to separate them but Stanley needed his own space as Coco was a bit domineering of him and we saw he needed to be his own man now in the UK.
Coco has done amazingly without him. She was unlikely to bond with her family or other dogs as she was so fixated on Stanley. Since parting a week ago she has blossomed. She has gone from not wanting human attention and being distant, to now approaching her foster dad for a cuddle in the sofa.
Her foster mum and dad say this about her:
"Coco is a lovely little girl, she is sweet natured, learning to fully trust. She can still be easily startled when on the lead, but is improving every day. We think she will need an owner who has experience with an anxious dog and plenty of time and patience to help her gain confidence.
She has a sweet nature and enjoys human contact now. I think she would be happy being the only dog in the home. She is completely clean indoors. And if a family can see what we see they will be very lucky."
We would love for her to find her forever home. Someone who has time and love to give her.
